Our Week in the Forest
We’ve had a wonderfully festive few weeks at Little Forest Folk Chiswick, filled with music, creativity and lots of Christmas cheer. Here’s a little look at what the children have been enjoying as we head towards the holidays.
🎶 Festive Music & Movement
The nursery has been buzzing with song!
Children loved singing “Merry Christmas” while exploring different instruments. They experimented with rhythm, tempo and working together to make joyful seasonal sounds. We also had great fun creating our own body-percussion routine to “Jingle Bells.” Our little explorers helped invent the movements - tapping, clapping, stamping and jingling along in their own unique style!
🎨 Christmas Crafts & Creativity
Our creative table has been extra busy this week:
The children practiced their fine motor skills by sewing and decorating Gingerbread Men, choosing their own colours, patterns and details. Using festive cookie cutters, our Little Forest Folk-ers shaped clay ornaments which they will take home once dry - perfect for hanging on the tree. We enjoyed wrapping and decorating present boxes, giving the children a chance to explore textures, tape, paper and ribbons. Everyone made their own mini Christmas wreath using colourful pipe cleaners. The children twisted, curled and shaped their wreaths beautifully - all very unique!
🌲 Messy Play & Family Fun
Thank you to the families who joined us for our special messy-play session on Wednesday! Together, we took part in a Christmas hunt through the forest area, searching for hidden festive objects. The children were brilliant explorers - using their observation skills, teamwork and lots of excitement to find everything on the list.
✨ Wishing You All a Merry Christmas
We’ve loved sharing these magical moments with the children. Thank you for your continued support and involvement.
We wish all our families a warm, joyful, and restful festive season.
Merry Christmas and Happy Holidays!
